Fatal Avian Influenza A H5N1 in a Dog
نویسندگان
چکیده
H pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 has spread across Asia, Europe, and Africa. Not limited to poultry, the virus has also been shown to cross the species barrier infecting humans (1) and felines, including domestic cats (2) and tigers (3–5). Both cats and tigers were reported as becoming infected after eating poultry carcasses harboring HPAI. Here, we report a case of HPAI H5N1 infection in a domestic dog following ingestion of the carcass of an infected duck.

Comparison of H5N1, H5N8, and H3N2 Using Decision Tree and Apriori Algorithm
H3N2, H5N1 and H5N8 virus were wide-spread epidemic in South Korea. Especially in 2014 Korea, the serious outbreak of avian influenza caused by H5N8 took place, effecting not only birds but also dogs. Antibody of H5N8 virus was found on a dog which differentiated the virus from existing H3N2 canine virus. At this point, we wanted to find out why H5N8 was self-medicated in dogs and whether H5N8 ...

In the February 2006 in two wetlands in northern Iran, the mortality among wild swans was observed. Paralysis was the most prominent feature of the disease. Histologically, diffused necrosis of acinar cells in pancreas, degeneration and necrosis of some neurons in central nervous system (CNS), sever necrotic and hemorrhagic enteritis, foci of haemorrahge and myocardial cell necrosis in the he...
متن کاملThe Combined Use of rHVT-H5 and rHVT-F Vector Vaccines in the Hatchery Enhances Immunity against Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H5N1 and Velogenic Newcastle Disease Viral Infections in Commercial Chickens
Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 and Newcastle disease viral infections cause severe illness in chickens and vaccination is a strategic tool of controlling these diseases. Hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of using both recombinant herpesvirus of turkey (rHVT-H5 and rHVT-F) vector vaccines at day-old, in the hatchery, under field conditions. Vaccinated chickens were...
متن کاملAvian influenza virus (H5N1): a threat to human health.
Pandemic influenza virus has its origins in avian influenza viruses. The highly pathogenic avian influenza virus subtype H5N1 is already panzootic in poultry, with attendant economic consequences. It continues to cross species barriers to infect humans and other mammals, often with fatal outcomes. Therefore, H5N1 virus has rightly received attention as a potential pandemic threat. However, it i...
